My username is luthienofold because, when I created this journal (back when we needed invite codes!), I had just read The Silmarillion and was rather enchanted by Luthien and Beren. I tried a couple of different variations on Luthien but this one stuck. I've been pretty happy with it for quite some time, too. 2. My name is _____ because ______. My name is Chelsie because my mother watched On Golden Pond and identified with Jane Fonda's character in some way and thought that it was a little more exotic than Amanda (one of the possibilities prior to my actual name). She chose an alternate spelling, however, because she thought that people would pronounce my name as "Chel-sea-uh". 3. My journal is titled ____ because ____. My journal is titled "When Diamonds are a Legend and Diadems a tale;" because that is the first line of my favorite Emily Dickinson poem (that is as follows): When Diamonds are a Legend, And Diadems—a Tale— I Brooch and Earrings for Myself, Do sow, and Raise for sale— And tho' I'm scarce accounted, My Art, a Summer Day—had Patrons— Once—it was a Queen— And once—a Butterfly— And the subtitle is "to sea for pearls." as I was keeping up with the gemstone theme, perhaps giving a noddle or two to Shakespeare's The Tempest. 4. My friends page is called ____ because ____. My friends page is called "intellectual leprechauns" because that's what I think of my friends. They're smart, creative people who look at the world in sprightly and sometimes subversive ways. It's also a nod to Sylvia Plath's "Love is a Parallax". 5. My default userpic is ____ because ____. My default userpic is (and I bow to the icon-making skillz of ack_attack) because (and let's be honest) Kara Thrace is absolutely amazing.
